Singer-songwriter, composer and painter
Gini Joy is a prolific songwriter, music composer and painter. She connects with her audiences
with her upbeat lyrics and unbridled melodies resonate with listeners, evoking a myriad of
feelings. When she sang “Toxic Love”, a lady from the audience stood up and cheered loudly,
“That’s the story of my life!” Audiences have also been brought to tears with her emotional
renderings.
Known for her artistic reinventions which reflect her free-flowing, adventurous mind that dares
to push creative and visual boundaries, Gini also crosses over genres. “Rollercoaster” is her latest
chillwave pop project. Her rock songs include: “Stormy Night”, “Toxic Love”, “Can I Rise Up”,
“Curly Tail Dog”, “Jealousy”; Christmas rock in “Joyful Holiday Season”. Her other pop songs
include: “Mesmerizing Eyes”, chillwave pop in “Euphoria”; synth-pop in “Sound of Noise”: pop
in “You Never Loved Me”; country-pop and folk in “Hungry”. Her genres also include some
EDM and disco. Her songs are about deeply relatable elements such as love, social commentary
and philosophy by which she expands the impact of musical experience to daydreaming and
empowering.
Gini became a passionate music lover. “When melodies come to my mind, I
compose songs. I find the greatest joy in music,” she says. “My songs can be about any theme
that attracts me at that moment.” Since the age of 3, Gini was artistic. She was bored learning her
ABCs and had more fun drawing Spongebob and Patrick instead. In elementary school, she
created booklets of drawings for story-telling. Every wall up to 4 feet high in her family’s
Manhattan apartment was covered with hand-drawn images of kids television characters,
teachers, classmates, friends and Hannah Montana. Her subjects have evolved to celebrities now,
including portraits of celebrities like Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Shakira, Ariana, Miley, Madonna,
Katy, Lady Gaga and Hugh Jackman.
